Switched email address back to googlemail on my PC, logged out, turned HTC Desire off, waited 2 mins, restarted phone : Problem solved. Thanks Guys!</description>

		<description>On the G1 (so I assume other Android phones too, but could be wrong) you can remove the Google account details on your phone without doing a wipe or rooting. You do this by clearing the data in the Google applications:

Menu -&gt; Settings -&gt; Applications -&gt; Manage applications... Then from here do the following three in order:
Google Mail -&gt; Clear data
Google Mail Storage -&gt; Clear data
Google Apps -&gt; Clear data

Then run the GMail app and it will ask you for your login details again.

There is also a way to run the setup wizard again using ADB, but I forget commands.</description>
