MINI GUIDE: How To Unroot Your Phone
If you’re rooting your phone, I’d recommend downloading your relevant RUU file first and saving it on your computer somewhere so that you can unroot whenever you need to…
To unroot your phone and restore it back to how it was just use the following instructions:
- Go to Shipped-Roms – link
- Download the RUU file which corresponds to what network branding your Desire came with
- Run the file once it’s download and follow the on-screen instructions
- At the end your phone should be restored to the exact state it was in when you got it

If one roots the phone and gets the apps2sd installed or flash some other rom then to get the froyo update is assume I would need to unroot and reflash the shipped roms published wwe rom as I have an unbranded phone. I noted shipped roms had roms for three network. Since I have the unbranded handset from three network i assume I still need the wwe edition rather than the three network one.
If in the future I need warranty service and then unroot and reflash the original rom, would there be some evidence that the desire was rooted previously.
The nexus warranty wording is slightly different from the desire warranty and from posts elsewhere looks like rooted reflashed phones did get warranty service from htc. Just wondering what your take on the warranty issues with respect to rooting and reflashing is.
Great blog, by far the most precisely written and regularly updated one for the htc desire.
Have a nice day.

Hi.
I bought my unlocked at TELE2 carrier, in Croatia.
How do I know which ROM is mine?
Can I install on rooted phone official HTC version of Froyo or I must install rooted version of that OS? (Or unroot the phone, install the official OS upgrade, then root again?).
Thanks in advance!!Like or Dislike:

My problem is as followed:
I rooted my phone to 2.2 and now id like to unroot it for the official update.
My problem now is, as soon as i connect my desire with my pc, i can see that it is recognized as a nexus one. that means i get an error in the ruu file programs…..
anyone any ideas on how to change that? i tried uninstalling the driver and reinstallin….. but i cant find the desire drivers…. it always installs it automatically…
thanks in advance

How do I find out which one is mine? Mine was bought on a Carphone Warehouse in UK, no carrier attached to it.
